Philosophy
At Ballo and Friends Nursery School, we believe that fun is the cornerstone for a successful preschool environment. This is why our programs are designed to promote the exploration of our learners selves and their surroundings - in a happy and safe way - whilst having as much fun as possible in the process.
We incorporate music through dancing and singing; imagination through story time and guided play; life skills through real life learning fine motor skill activities; social development through group activities and supervised free play; critical thinking through puzzles, playdough and block building; basic numeracy and literacy through classroom activities; physical development through gross motor skill activities and emotional awareness through sharing of feelings.
Our teachers run their classrooms on love, support and encouragement and the learners that leave us at the end of their preschool journeys are well-rounded and confident little children.
Health & Safety
At Ballo and Friends, health and safety is our number one concern. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, being dropped off/picked up, eating, napping or using the toilet, your child's safety is always assured.
​Our facilities are regularly maintained and inspected, including our playground equipment which is inspected and serviced independently by ALERS Klimrame.
Our 2 trained security officers are regularly patrolling our grounds, and supervise our drop off and pick up times to ensure child safety at these critical times. We also have CCTV monitoring throughout the school.
Our teachers are all trained in ECD Education through the SA Childcare Association, and this includes basic first aid principles, classroom safety and playground monitoring.
We have 4 first aid officers who are trained in pediatric first aid through DDI and a fully equipped sick bay for any illnesses and injuries.
Our kitchen is sanitary and run by staff trained in food preparation safety through NSHEQ. Our groceries are bought fresh weekly and prepared fresh daily for your child.
We have 5 fire extinguisher points throughout the school and our sefety officer has received fire safety training. We run fire and emergency drills throughout the year to be prepared for any emergency.
